For Legynds Apotheosis 2024

If you would like to be a Medic for our LARP, here is what we require:

  • We ask that all medics have a current CPR and First Aid certification.
    • If you have others please include those: Bloodborne Pathogens, AED, HIPAA, PALS, and/or ACLS 
    • Please email confirmation of certificates to legyndsaop@gmail.com (photos of certificates are sufficient 
  • Know who other Medics on site are if any
    • Have a short meeting before the game to assess all medical equipment available to the site, personal and Legynds. 
  • Know the designated Medical location on site.
    • This will differ per site  
  • Know where the onsite Legynds medic bag is located
    • This is where a player will meet you for medical reasons
    • Having your own bag is a plus. You can leave it with the Legynds bag or keep it with you.
  • AED – know if the site has one and where it is located.
  • Keep a log of injuries you treat.
    • Log will be provided by Legynds
  • Make a list of anything we need to refill in the medic bag in the log
  • Players who need a medic for Non emergency situations will ask the Player Coordinator to radio for one and will meet the medic at the designated location.
  • Players who have an Emergency situation, the word “Medic” will be called out as well as radioed for:
    • According to JSTOR A medical emergency is an acute injury or illness that poses an immediate risk to a person’s life or long-term health, sometimes referred to as a situation risking “life or limb”. 
    • Georgia has a ‘Good Samaritan Law’ to protect those who help in an emergency 
  • 5 Steward Points will be given for volunteer medics who have First Aid/CPR certifications
  • 10 Steward Points will be given to volunteers who are licensed professional Nurses, doctors, first responders, and EMTs.
  • The expectation of our medics:
    • When the word “medic’ is shouted for or called for on the radio or phone, that you immediately stop what you are doing in play or out of play and come to the desired location to assess the situation. 
    • If you need to leave the site for any reason, please make sure you have informed the Player Coordinator so that we can let staff know that you have left and assess who the other current on site medic are. 
    • Log any incident where a medic is called for and you treated someone.
